Client Overview
Tiffany Hanken Design is a Minneapolis-based Interior Design firm with over 20 years of experience in residential and commercial interior design.
Founder and lead Interior Designer, Tiffany La Naour (Hanken) has enchanted spaces with her whimsical personality and precise vision in national restaurants, clothing boutiques, and residences across the United States and France. She started her career as a child growing up on a farm in Wisconsin, where remodeling an old hunting shack at the age of twelve led her to find her love for interior design. She is now the Founder & Operator of Tiffany Hanken Interior Design.
Our Objectives
We’ve been working with Tiffany for many years and have grown alongside her business in her marketing objectives. At the onset of our relationship, www.tiffanyhankendesign.com had a very lackluster presence and had many live back-end pages filled with lorem ipsum and unrelated content from a previous website company that reused a template. Our objectives were to rebuild the site to present the professional – higher-end image that the THD brand exudes.
Local SEO was also a problem as the studio had moved locations. The business lost its ranking position on Google Maps and had hundreds of broken citations.
The company also needed a rebrand, new brand business set, and new logos for various applications.
THD - Website Design
The conversation about website design for Interior Designers often focuses on the portfolio and making things look pretty – showcasing the work that the designer or design team has done. Our focus with THD is two-fold in that the team at Tiffany Hanken not only works locally in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area but nationally in cities like New York, and internationally with current projects in Paris, France.
SEO for Interior Design
SEO Focus – The website was rebuilt from the ground up with a technical SEO and on-page SEO framework so that we can rank out of the gate and be minimally competitive on first-page results in our local market. Ongoing SEO services include off-site link building, on-page blog article writing, and structural updates to align with Google’s algorithm.
Local SEO
When the team at THD moved their location they suffered from a common problem that many small business owners are not even aware happens to them – the issue can be debilitating for the business. A common term in the local SEO space is “NAP” which stands for name, address, and phone number. Local SEO and directory work are crucial for your business’s success. It takes many months, if not years in some cases, to get to the top 3-5 positions on mobile search in your geography. When you move or change business information, you “break” this channel and Google pushes you out. Local SEO services include finding and repairing directory listings, eliminating harmful duplicates, and generating new inbound links from new directories.
We fixed this space for Tiffany Hanken Design. It took about 15 months to complete.

Brand Strategy
The previous logo and brand identity utilized a seafoam green flower in the logo. Depending on your browser settings and color profile, it could be very difficult to see the color and identify the logo design. The new company branding strategy involved modern matte colors, clean lines, and a new company acronym (THD). This has allowed us to design logos for horizontal, vertical, favicons, and social media applications.
